Take a day.
Take an hour.
Take a minute.
Do that final polish.
Perfect is an illusion.
The closest we come to perfect might be a moment. Ephemeral. Gone before we realise it was so.
‘Perfect’.
As the word tumbles from your mouth the time is passed. Already begun to decay. A memory rather than a reality. The bubble burst.
Yet, this is nothing to bemoan. Rather, it is for to realise perfect is never behind us and always ahead.
Strive for the unobtainable. Aim ahead.
Relevant? What’s relevant?
Relevant is what moves you forward. It’s what drives you higher. Makes you stronger. Makes you faster. Makes you better. Relevant teaches lessons. Difficult, slow learning.
Relevant is the journey, the map, the guide. The path.
It’s the plan you set out to follow. It’s what you decide to become. If you have no plan make one. Then follow it.
Life is short. You have no time. Do what you set out to do. Waste none of it. Not going to live forever. Remember, death awaits. Sooner than we dare know..
Relevant isn’t easy.
Relevant is today. Don’t let it get away.
Can you pick your worst idea and make it work?
Just because an idea is your worst idea does not make it bad. Of course it doesn’t make it good either.
The execution of the idea can make the difference. As George S. Patton said: ‘A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.’
Execute your perfect plan when it’s ready. Until then execute the ideas that are good enough. Even if that means making your worst idea work.
Hard work is important. But let’s not fetishise it.
Many among us already have. They say things like, ‘I work harder than you’, or ‘I work longer than you’. All with the implication that doing so makes them better and more successful.
Perhaps it does. At least depending on their definition of success.
Yes, you need to work hard. But it’s not the only thing in life.
Work hard but don’t miss out on the rest of what life has to offer.
